Confidentiality
All information divulged during the counselling process is strictly confidential and treated with the highest level of respect. Any details given comply with all relevant GDPR legislation, details of which is shared with every client at our first session.
However, the limitations of confidentiality are as followed
a) A Client disclosed an actual risk of harming themselves or others.
b) A Client disclosed any breach of child protection or vulnerable adult protection acts.
c) A Client disclosed any offences under the terrorism act.
d) I, the Counsellor is required to answer questions in a court of law, in the course of a police investigation or if failure to do so would lead to the conviction of I, the Counsellor themselves.
In all above cases I would hope to, where possible, work with you to obtain permission first.
