Welcome, my name is Ester Wheeler
About me…
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I work within its ethical framework. As well as private practice, I am also experienced practising within the charity sector. My charity experience includes counselling as part of a local charity providing affordable counselling to over 18’s, providing free counselling for a rape and sexual abuse service in Portsmouth before coordinating its domestic abuse service. I continue to work with trauma in the charity sector as a clinical lead and supervisor.
A Little about Me and My Approach:
I am a Humanistic Therapist: Together, we will explore your unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. I prioritise a warm, empathetic, and co-created relationship, empowering you to find your own path forward.
I have a partial interest and work withInterpersonal Trauma: If you’ve experienced relational wounds, such as abuse, neglect, or betrayal, we will work through the impact of these experiences in a way that honours your feelings and pace.
I am passionate about Anti-Oppressive Practice and Intersectional Feminist Theory: I recognize how systems of power, discrimination, and societal oppression can affect your sense of self and wellbeing. I am committed to supporting you in a way that is inclusive, respectful, and empowering, regardless of your background or identity.
